Getting started
Sign in
Logging in, staying logged in, and what to do when the form pushes back.
Log in at /login with Google, GitHub, or the email and password you registered with. You stay signed in on this browser for 30 days. Closing the tab does not sign you out, and neither does visiting the marketing site — Open app takes you back to your workspace.
Signing in
- 1
Choose a method
Continue with Google or GitHub if those buttons are shown, or enter the email and password you registered with. Passwords are case sensitive.
- 2
Press Log in
You land on /new, ready to describe a module. If you were reading a shared link or a docs page, that is where you started from, not where you return to.
When the form pushes back
The login form shows the reason the server gave, rather than a generic failure. That distinction matters, so here is what each one means:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Incorrect password | Check caps lock; the account exists and the address is right. |
| No account with that email | Nothing is registered under that address. Try signing up instead. |
| Please verify your email first | The account exists but was never confirmed. Finish verification. |
| This account uses Google / GitHub | The account was created with social login and has no password. Continue with that provider instead of the email form. |
| Your session expired | You were signed in and the session ran out. Log in again; nothing was lost. |
Staying signed in, and signing out
The login lasts 30 days in this browser unless you log out. Visiting the landing page, docs, or blog does not end it — those pages send you back into the app if you are still signed in. If a request comes back saying the session expired, the app sends you to the login page.
To sign out, open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Log out. That ends the session everywhere it was being used from that browser.
